Exploring a Unique Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Turdy Character with the Goal to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have encountered numerous entertaining independent titles. Yet, one catches the eye for its unconventional concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled side-scrolling game lets you play a hero that is actually a dung striving to travel to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

The gameplay is straightforward: press a jump control. In 150 levels, battle boss fights and visit a market to buy skins for your dung hero.

Execute your jumps carefully, since one mistake forces beginning again. Jump using bubbles to propel yourself to new heights, cross crumbling surfaces, and interact with buttons to open hidden paths. Collect coins for buying tougher stages where things intensifies.

Visually, the demo boasts vibrant level designs and a killer background music. The simple art featuring moving geometric shapes may remind gamers of beloved games like Earthbound.

Even though difficult to recall previous releases where you control a coiled turd, video games have long featured toilet humor. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players create grenades from protagonist excrement. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use dung as plant food. Naturally, fecal references shows up heavily in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already garnered impressive awards, including being named best at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is ready at present on Steam, with the final release scheduled to arrive on Steam in the fall.
